How to Make New Friends

gail_goodwinWhen it comes to knowing how to make new friends, my kids are the gurus. I’ve watched them for years now on the playground… “Hi! Do you want to be my friend?” So when I went to a conference in Vegas last weekend, courtesy of my new blogger friend Corrin and IZEA, it was that image that I held in my mind. At first, I was a little daunted by the fact that I didn’t expect to know a soul there but I reminded myself that it was going to be one giant playground. I was going to meet so many friends… I just didn’t know who they were… yet!

And now I do. I met such amazing and inspiring people… Gail Goodwin who is flying around the world giving hugs with the Global Hug Tour and Angie Swartz, who publishes Six Figure Moms Club. I met Cris from Project Working Moms and Chris Knight from Ezine Articles, Queen Bee Elizabeth Hannan, and Twitter Mayor, Chris Brogan. How did it happen? Pretty much exactly how my kids do it….

My Mommy Manual is helping to promote Gail Goodwin’s inspired idea of spreading hugs around the world. Read more about it here. That’s me and Gail, hugging! :)

  1. Dear Ria,

I love playing on the same playground with you! I’m very grateful that our paths crossed at the Affiliate Summit.

I’m also very grateful for your support of our Global Hug Tour. My husband and I leave in May to fly 31,000 miles around the world, to gather inspirations, deliver 100,000 hugs and share $1,000,000 with important causes. We’re honored to have your support and help on this project. More details-

Thanks again Ria. I’m very happy to have you in my life.

    Big hugs,

  2. I am SO glad you had such a great time, and I’m going to keep your kids friend making abilities in mind when I had to Blissdom alone next month!

  3. HI Ria,

It was great meeting you! It was excellent to have a great conversation where everyone present got to do a great “brain download” of ideas. Was really nice to just discuss anything and everything.

    Hope to meetup again soon!

ps. Your site is looking great!

  4. Corrin, you’re going to have a great time! Play nice with all the other Blissdomers.

Elizabeth, yeah… it was great. I wish I could play at SXSW too. Too soon. Too much going on. Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I’ll take the next step into video soon. But that means I’ll have to look presentable. :)
