Each item in there symbolized something my friend and I talked about. So the bag of groceries showed I was really listening (i.e. a can of soup for when they feel sick, granola bars since they always skip breakfast, an easy recipe since they don't cook very often + the ingredients to make it, etc.) I made a simple bag of groceries thoughtful.
